Mastering The Art Of Listening

I read a beautiful quote today that so struck me, and deeply so, that I felt constrained to share it.
Few of us communicate really well. We think explaining ourselves is key, but listening is the most important part.
—Sallie Tisdale, “Travel Guide to the End of Life”
There are so many I long to touch....to commune with...to comfort and love...but they will not let me.
They will not let anyone get a word in edgewise.
Why?
Because they are too enamored with themselves to care about such things as listening...softening...opening...joining...to care about such nonsense as exploring what the meaning of the communion of souls is really all about.
I really feel that this is the source of all the madness in our world.
You can believe that you are a true seeker of the Divine, and even feel that you have had an "awakening experience" of sorts, yet if you live in a world where you are the center of your universe and everything is all about me, myself and I, how awake can you actually earnestly claim to be?
A life of care isn't even on the radar of most human beings.
To enter the flow and follow the gentle rhythmic cadence of the Cosmic Heart Beat...to listen for Its Presence within another, to participate in the sacred Oneness of all things.
This, my friends, is Heaven on earth!
And this is what our world cries in earnest for.
Perhaps, in the end, we will discover that this is what the Corona virus came to teach us.
Perhaps...just perhaps...Corona came to give us our humanity back.
And isn't that what true Divinity looks like after all?
